I haven’t always loved to cook. Growing up I ate Fudge rounds for breakfast, french fries for lunch, and ramen noodles for dinner. I wouldn’t exactly call that a healthy lifestyle. I just didn’t know any different.
Fast forward 20 years and now I make almost all of the meals we eat. When I was about 20 years old, I started experimenting. I was really good at making vegetable soup in a crock-pot but that was about it. I can remember getting Jessica Seinfeld’s cookbook that has you sneaking vegetables into your kids foods. I’d say that’s where I started venturing out.

I would use avocado instead of butter, applesauce instead of oil and oat flour instead of all purpose.
Before you knew it I was creating all kinds of concoctions, some good and some not so good lol! It was so much fun for me and soon I made it my mission to find ways to make all my favorite foods healthier.
Then I started counting macros and that’s when things got serious. So now not only was I making all these creations, I was also calculating out all the calories and macros for them as well. I was actually doing it with pen and paper. Adding up all the ingredients and dividing each of them among the servings. Needless to say it took a lot of time.

I kept everything in a spiral notebook and I would share the things I was making on my personal Instagram page. One day I took a video of my notebook and asked if I should start a separate page for my recipes and that’s how Sweetandspicymacros was born.

That page has grown from me just sharing my creations and workouts to a full-time coaching business. I took my love for health and fitness and just dove in. I coach people virtually one-on-one and I absolutely love it. I love inspiring women to lift heavy and show them they are so much stronger than they think. Because I know hiring a coach is not in everyone’s budget, I wrote 3 month training programs for both the gym and at home. My newest program, Intro to the Gym is a beginners guide to weightlifting. I laid out every aspect, step by step while providing videos embedded into the PDF. If you are an experienced lifter, I highly recommend either Advanced Strength or Advanced Hypertrophy to take your gains to the next level.

One thing that has not changed is my love for baking. I still make it my mission to create low calorie, high protein meals and treats. Every client comes to me struggling to hit their protein targets. It was always my goal to show people they can have their cake and eat it to. So I could not be more happy to share Sweet and Spicy Favorites Cookbook with you! There are 60 recipes that have all been macro-calculated. I’m excited to share 6 never before seen recipes that I created for Pescience. The new recipes include the most amazing Peanut butter and Jelly cake, Vegan apple crisp and my recipe makeover for Trader Joe’s Everything but the Elote dip. My version has 7x the protein and I’m so excited for you to try it!

I do just want to take a moment to thank all of you for supporting me. Whether it’s purchasing this cookbook, or one of my training programs, or even using my code with Pescience. It means the world to me. I hope I can continue to provide value to you for many years to come.
Gratefully yours,
Alica
