The world of health and fitness is flooded with information, and not all of it is good. Take a quick scroll through Instagram, and you’ll see ads for waist trainers and skinny teas. Every other account is telling you that you have to cut carbs to lose weight fast. Or, maybe it’s your friend on Facebook, who told you that being a vegan is the only way to be healthy.
Then, we also have to deal with the anti-diet culture crowd whose message seems like a good one. “Love Yourself. You are perfect the way you are.” That’s great, but what if you don’t? Now you’ve been made to feel even worse that you don’t love your body. You shouldn’t have to feel shame for wanting to change.
